Adaptive Sports for Veterans in Odesa
In the city of Odesa, an adaptive sports program is being implemented for veterans who have served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Through collaboration with civic and sports organizations that support individuals with disabilities, various sports activities are integrated into the rehabilitation process, including wheelchair basketball, table tennis, billiards, golf, swimming, diving, and boxing.
Engaging in sports and participating in athletic events help veterans reintegrate into society and return to an active lifestyle.
For instance, veterans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Danilov, Serhii Kotsiuba, and Valerii Chuhuev, will represent Ukraine at the WPA Heyball Parasport World Championship - 2024, which will take place in Los Angeles.
The preparation of Odesa athletes has been made possible with the support of the Rehabilitation Department of the Odesa City Council's Health Department.
