Ukrainian Aquathlon Championship: Impressive Outcomes for Veteran Athletes
On July 13, the club championship of Ukraine in aquathlon for veteran athletes was held on the Black Sea coast of Odessa.
The competition gathered 283 participants from various cities, including Kyiv, Lviv, Mykolaiv, and others.
The swimming segment (1 km, 2 km, 4 km) took place in the waters near the «Chaika» beach to the yacht club and back. The running segment (5 km, 10 km, 20 km) was held on the Health Trail from the «Chaika» beach to the «Golden Coast» beach and back.
In the overall ranking for the absolute distance, the victory went to Andriy Kushnerov from Kyiv with a time of 46:13. Second place was taken by Serhiy Zvyahin (Kyiv) - 53:18, and third place was claimed by Odesa's Petro Vasyliev - 58:09.
In the «long» aquathlon (2+10 km), Odesa's Vadym Maslenikov triumphed with a result of 1:13:01, silver was won by Serhiy Chernyshov (Kyiv) - 1:14:53, and bronze went to fellow Kyiv resident Serhiy Yanhichar - 1:16:35.
In the «Standard» aquathlon (1+5 km), Andriy Pechenyi from Kyiv celebrated victory with a time of 33:28, while second place also went to a Kyiv athlete, Semen Tereshchenko - 34:07, and Odesa's Denys Polyakov took bronze - 35:08.
Among women in this distance, the podium was completely occupied by Kyiv athletes. The champion was Anastasia Ihnatenko, second place was taken by Nadiya Somina, and third went to Iryna Krotova.
The competition was organized by the Odesa Regional Triathlon Federation with the support of the Odesa City Council.
