Hepatitis Testing Initiative in Odessa
Last week, in Odessa, with the support of the Department of Health and the local health center, an event was held to mark World Hepatitis Day.
On this day, everyone was invited to undergo free and anonymous testing for hepatitis B and C. Regular screenings help detect hepatitis at an early stage, allowing for timely treatment and prevention of serious liver damage.
During the event, 483 individuals participated in the voluntary anonymous testing, with 10 testing positive. Additionally, 20 individuals were referred for consultation with an infectious disease specialist.
Healthcare professionals remind that hepatitis B and C testing is included in the free primary healthcare package under the state medical guarantees program, and can be done through a family doctor.
