Health and Hope: A Visit to Medical Facilities in Odesa Region
The medical facilities in the Odesa region are where the daily struggle for health and life takes place. The regional administration stands by their side in this crucial mission.
Deputy Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr KHARLOV, and the Director of the Health Department, Oksana ROKUNETS-SOROCHAN, visited two key medical institutions that offer people hope for life, healing, and smiles.
Odesa Regional Oncology Center
During the visit, they checked the readiness of the equipment and the conditions in which patients undergo radiation therapy, the final stage of treatment.
As part of the Medical Guarantees Program, patients receive free:
- consultation with an oncologist;
- CT scans (Siemens GoSim);
- precise marking, preparation, and stable fixation for radiation therapy.
Each radiation session is not just a procedure. It is a fight for another dawn, for another breath without pain.
Odesa Regional Children's Clinical Hospital — the updated child psychiatry unit
Since July 1, 2025, the only modern inpatient child psychiatry unit in the region has been operating here. Daily, important battles are fought — for children's emotions, their inner peace, and the right to a happy childhood.
With 25 beds, modern equipment, and a team of specialists — from psychiatrists to speech therapists, this place is not just about treatment; it's about understanding, warmth, and a return to life without fear.
Although renovations are still underway, assistance is already being provided fully and sincerely. Here, inclusivity, accessibility, and telemedicine are in practice. Dozens of children have already undergone treatment or are currently under the supervision of a professional team.
During the visits, they spoke with doctors, discussed the most pressing issues, and plans for the future. By changing the conditions, we change the reality and offer a chance for a better life.
