Commemorating the Victims of the Holodomor in Ukraine
On November 23, a ceremony was held in Odesa to honor the memory of the victims of the Holodomor 1932-1933.
This tragic chapter in Ukrainian history caused immense suffering and loss. During the Soviet era, discussing this was prohibited, and the memory was passed down orally from generation to generation.
Today, we speak about it openly so that the world recognizes and remembers the millions of innocent lives lost due to the genocide perpetrated by the Soviet regime. This year, we once again honor the victims of Stalin's genocide amidst the ongoing full-scale war, which includes genocidal actions against Ukrainians by Russia.
Every year, on the fourth Saturday of November, Ukraine commemorates the victims of the Holodomor 1932–1933 and the mass artificial famines of 1921–1923 and 1946–1947.
