Legal Action for Unauthorized Occupation of Protected Land

Gazebo in the national park
According to law enforcement, in the Yaskiv community, a 62-year-old man illegally occupied a plot of land by the Dniester River, creating a fishing zone with a gazebo without any permits.
During the investigation, it was determined that the man occupied 33.21 m² of land that belongs to the Lower Dniester National Natural Park.
"The part of the state natural park was used by the man for his personal recreation area. He had no permits whatsoever," said investigator Daria Stotska.
It is known that the area the man occupied is of state importance and is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
What is the penalty for illegal land occupation
The pre-trial investigation against the offender has been completed, and the indictment has been sent to court. The accused has been charged with illegal occupation of land, specifically concerning particularly valuable land. According to the provisions of part 2 of Article 197-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, he faces up to two years of imprisonment.
