Tragic Road Incident: Accident on M-14
Today, April 28, 2025, a tragic incident occurred on the M-14 highway connecting Odessa and Mykolaiv, resulting in a fatality.
According to the head of the investigative department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odessa region, Dmytro Slyuta, it has been preliminarily established that the female driver of a "Toyota" caused the accident while overtaking, which involved two other cars and a truck.
As a result of the accident, one driver died, while two other drivers and a passenger were taken to the hospital with various injuries.
The scene was attended by a detective team from the traffic accident investigation unit, patrol police response team, and operational group from police station No. 3 of the Odessa district police.
Investigators have registered the incident in the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine concerning violations of road safety rules that resulted in death.
A series of expert examinations will be conducted as part of the proceedings. The full circumstances of the accident are being established.
Police once again urge drivers to strictly adhere to traffic rules and to be cautious and attentive to the road conditions.
