Strengthening Ties: Odessa and Chisinau's New Cooperation
The Mayor of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov, held an online meeting with the Mayor of Chisinau, Ion Ceban. The two leaders congratulated each other and the residents of their cities on the 30th anniversary of their partnership and discussed the current situation and further development of their relations.
The previous meeting between the mayors took place at the European Mayors Summit in Strasbourg, where they, along with other colleagues, discussed the role of local governance in enhancing civil society and implementing infrastructure projects.
Continuing the dialogue, Ion Ceban highlighted that Moldova is currently implementing several projects with neighboring Romania and sees potential in trilateral cooperation.
Gennady Trukhanov and Ion Ceban agreed to establish a trilateral working group to develop joint projects in the fields of infrastructure, economy, and social support, aimed at fostering sustainable development of cities and strengthening ties between Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania.
This initiative will help attract additional resources, facilitate knowledge sharing, and provide support to Ukrainians during challenging wartime conditions.
