Collaboration between Odesa and Moldovan Communities
The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, met with leaders from the Moldovan communities of Leova, Tudora, and Stefan-Voda — Oleksandr Buzhoryan, Veronika Mokan, and Vladyslav Kochu, respectively.
This meeting was part of the inter-municipal cooperation under a Memorandum signed during a round table dedicated to developing partnerships between Ukraine and Moldova.
Participants discussed community development and shared aspects, including the 20,000-strong Moldovan community residing in Odesa region.
Veronika Mokan emphasized that the border village of Tudora has welcomed twice as many Ukrainian refugees since the onset of the war as its own population and continues to provide support.
Vladyslav Kochu, the mayor of Stefan-Voda, personally collected humanitarian aid and delivered it to Ukraine, maintaining close contact with Ukrainian communities.
The parties also discussed common challenges in the path to European integration. Oleksandr Buzhoryan, the mayor of Leova, shared insights on Moldova's administrative reform.
In addition, issues of energy resilience, transportation corridor development, infrastructure modernization, and security were raised. The focus remained on finding solutions based on trust, solidarity, and shared European values.
