Condemnation of Social Media for Censoring Child Casualty Reports
Georgiy Tykhyy, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has publicly criticized the social media platform X for marking posts regarding the deaths of Ukrainian children due to Russian shelling as «inappropriate content».
The official accused the platform of suppressing the crimes of the Russian Federation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is outraged by the actions of social media X, which they believe ignores the facts of Russian aggression.
«Seriously, X? Since when did the number of Ukrainian children killed by Russia become «inappropriate content”? This is not about protecting users from graphic images. This is an attempt to cover up war crimes. This is unacceptable, and this decision must be reversed,» he emphasized in his post.
Georgiy Tykhyy included a screenshot in his post to show how the platform hid information from the official MFA account.
The screenshot reveals that the social media X obscured a post detailing at least 616 children killed and 1869 injured since the onset of the full-scale invasion.
