Details: The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced that on April 15 and 16, a meeting will be held in Ankara to discuss security issues in the Black Sea following a potential ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.
The meeting will take place at the headquarters of the Naval Forces, where military representatives from various nations will be present. The agenda includes naval planning issues aimed at maintaining peace in the region.
The Turkish Ministry of Defense did not specify which countries would participate, but confirmed that Russian officials would not be among them.
Earlier, Turkish media reported that a meeting was planned in Ankara with representatives from both Ukraine and Russia to discuss Black Sea security.
Background:
As a result of negotiations in Saudi Arabia from March 23-25, the USA, Russia, and Ukraine agreed to discuss securing navigation in the Black Sea.
However, after these talks, Russia presented a list of demands, including the easing of sanctions on the agricultural sector. The USA stated they would consider these demands, while in Europe, the idea of easing sanctions was rejected.
