Trump and Zelensky's Productive Meeting in Rome

U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky met for a crucial discussion in Rome on Saturday.

According to sources from the White House, the meeting was productive, though no specifics were provided. Reports indicate that the conversation lasted approximately 15 minutes.

This meeting was the first following a heated exchange in the Oval Office in February and came at a critical juncture in negotiations aimed at ending hostilities between Ukraine and Russia.

Stephen Chung, the White House communications director, stated, "President Trump and President Zelensky met privately and had a very productive discussion. More details will be released later."

Trump, who has urged both parties to agree on a ceasefire, mentioned on Friday that productive talks had taken place between his envoy and Russian leaders, calling for a high-level meeting between Kyiv and Moscow.

Earlier, it was reported that the Trump administration handed Ukraine a one-page document in Paris, presented as a "final proposal" for peace negotiations. Among other things, the U.S. is prepared to acknowledge Russia's control over Crimea and ease sanctions against Moscow.

On April 24, President Zelensky noted that the U.S. had proposed its strategy regarding Ukrainian territories during talks in London, but after the U.S. proposal, another document emerged.
