Renovation Efforts in Odesa: Updates on Sofiivska Street
Emergency repair works are ongoing at the building on Sofiivska Street in Odesa. The installation of a reinforced band for wall binding and roofing over the most severely damaged area has been completed. A small section of the roof still requires replacement.
Today, October 31, 2024, Odesa's Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov met with residents to discuss pressing issues. Among the top priorities are the installation of a ceiling between the new roof and apartments, restoration of windows and heating systems, as well as repairs to the staircases in one of the entrances.
The mayor emphasized the importance of partnerships with charitable and community organizations providing construction materials, which helps expedite emergency repair works. He expressed hope for continued cooperation, noting that budgetary procedures can be time-consuming, especially for buildings of architectural significance.
Mayor Trukhanov thanked the "Morning of Revival" Charity Fund, the "Tenth of April" NGO, and the UNHCR for their ongoing support and provision of construction materials.
The emergency repair works at the building on Sofiivska Street are being conducted by the municipal enterprise "JCS Porto-Franqivsk" with the support and coordination of the Odesa mayor's humanitarian advisor Veronika Etnarovich.
