Energy Efficiency in Ukraine: Tips for Saving Electricity

According to recent reports, as temperatures drop, electricity consumption increases. Meanwhile, the energy system is still recovering from numerous attacks.

The higher the power of a device, the more energy it consumes. However, devices with a higher energy efficiency rating use less electricity. Therefore, it is essential to pay attention to the energy-efficient appliances you buy or use. This can help save money and reduce the load on the energy system.

Smart energy usage can prevent overloads in the system and potential accidents.

Experts' tips for saving electricity:
- Unplug devices when not in use (televisions, chargers, etc.). Even in sleep mode, they consume electricity;
- Boil only the necessary amount of water to save time and money, as well as reduce the load on the energy system;
- Run washing and dishwashing machines fully loaded, preferably at night after peak hours. Choose programs with lower washing temperatures;
- Use energy-saving bulbs. Do not leave lights on in rooms where no one is present;
- Charge smartphones and other devices at night when consumption is at its lowest.

Energy experts also emphasize that you should not turn on multiple high-powered devices simultaneously during peak hours: from 07:00 to 11:00 in the morning and from 16:00 to 22:00 in the evening.
