Traffic Safety Enhancements at Odessa Intersections
In Odessa, the Patrol Police has identified 25 critical intersections that significantly impact road safety in the city.
During emergency power outages (blackouts), the Municipal Enterprise «SMEP» collaborates with the Patrol Police to monitor the operational status of traffic lights.
All key intersections are equipped with large uninterruptible power supplies, ensuring the autonomous operation of traffic lights (when fully charged) for 4 to 8 hours.
If necessary, the Municipal Enterprise «SMEP» replaces batteries, and in urgent cases, in collaboration with the Department of Transport, Communications, and Traffic Management, connects generators to maintain traffic light operations.
During battery replacements and generator connections, the Patrol Police manage traffic at the intersections.
Drivers are urged to be vigilant and adhere to traffic regulations.
