Autumn Challenges for Municipal Services in Odesa
The autumn rain, strong winds, and fallen leaves pose additional challenges for municipal services. Workers are actively engaged in the streets of Odesa.
Eight teams from the Municipal Enterprise «City Roads» are on duty to ensure the drainage of rainwater. Crews are clearing storm drain grates of leaves and debris washed in by the rain.
Today, 46 units of special equipment and 328 workers are involved in the operations.
The cleaning of the drainage system is carried out both manually and with heavy machinery, including excavators, motor graders, and hydraulic units based on trucks.
Workers from the «Housing and Communal Services» are also engaged in clearing grates, sweeping, and removing fallen leaves and debris from their assigned areas.
About 180 workers from the «City Green Trust» maintain order in the city's greenery. Due to bad weather, 3 trees have already fallen, along with numerous small branches.
Greenkeepers are involved in sawing and removing fallen trees and branches, as well as collecting and removing fallen leaves from parks and squares.
