Restoration of Bus Stops: Combating Vandalism
The staff of the municipal enterprise «City Roads» is constantly engaged in repairing public transport stops. Daily, unknown individuals cause damage by leaving graffiti, breaking benches, and destroying trash bins along with concrete, as well as smashing the glass of bus stops. Frequently, stops are also affected by road accidents.
Since the beginning of 2024, vandals have shattered the glass of 33 bus stops, damaged 33 benches, 85 trash bins, and 15 roofs. The enterprise's specialists also clean the walls from writings and announcements left by offenders.
In total, the municipal enterprise «City Roads» services 1,012 public transport stops.
As part of servicing these stops, the specialists regularly carry out sanitary cleaning of the surrounding area, repair and restore bins, benches, and pavilions, as well as wash and paint them.
The Odessa City Council once again appeals to residents and visitors to treat municipal property with care. Intentional damage to municipal property carries criminal liability.

Article 194. Intentional Destruction or Damage to Property
1. Intentional destruction or damage to someone else's property causing significant harm is punishable by a fine of up to fifty (850 UAH) non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens, or community service for a period of 120 to 240 hours, or corrective labor for up to two years, or restriction of liberty for up to three years, or imprisonment for the same term.
Article 296. Hooliganism
1. Hooliganism, i.e., gross violation of public order with obvious disrespect for society, accompanied by particular audacity or exceptional cynicism, is punishable by a fine from five hundred (8500 UAH) to one thousand (17000 UAH) non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens, or arrest for up to six months, or restriction of liberty for up to five years.
2. The same actions committed by a group of individuals are punishable by restriction of liberty for up to five years or imprisonment for up to four years.
