Vandalism Issues at Public Transport Stops
The Municipal Enterprise «City Roads» services 884 public transport stops, with 605 equipped with pavilions and 279 without. During the maintenance of these stops, the specialists perform sanitary cleaning of the surrounding area, as well as repair and restoration of bins, benches, and pavilions, including washing and painting them.
Unfortunately, the problem of vandalism remains significant. Since the beginning of the year, there have been 9 recorded acts of vandalism.
Almost daily, unknown individuals deface the stops by leaving inscriptions, breaking benches, tearing out bins along with concrete, and smashing glass walls of the complexes. Additionally, public transport stops are sometimes damaged due to traffic accidents.
The Odessa City Council once again appeals to residents and visitors to treat the city property with care. Intentional damage and destruction of municipal property can lead to criminal liability.
