Preparing Odesa's Greenery for Winter
Employees of the municipal enterprise «Miskzelentrest» have begun preparations for the city's greenery for the winter season.
According to the approved plan, this autumn, 380 young trees, including plane trees, catalpas, birches, acacias, sophoras, and kelreiterias, will be planted in Odesa. All trees are 8-10 years old and have been cultivated by the enterprise for planting in the urban environment.
Additionally, there are plans to plant 1500 bushes and 3000 units of miscanthus, a perennial grass plant.
The planting is scheduled to begin around the second half of October.
Starting in early November, the enterprise will begin winterizing the automatic irrigation systems. Overall, «Miskzelentrest» manages about 50 automatic irrigation systems located in various areas of the city, including parks and squares.
Preparations for winter have also begun at the greenhouse enterprise «Trojan». The greenhouses operate year-round, and from September, preparations for the following year commence.
Here, work is already underway on insulating the greenhouses and preparing seeds for the next year across 4000 square meters. Annually, approximately 1 million plants are cultivated in the greenhouses, including 250,000 spring flowers, 250,000 potted flowering plants, and around 500,000 other seedlings, as well as about 11,000 decorative leafy trees.

Furthermore, in September of this year, greenkeepers planted 5000 chrysanthemum bushes in Odesa, which will soon bloom and beautify the autumn city with flowers.
