Diana Yastremska's Triumph at Roland Garros
Ukrainian player Diana Yastremska has successfully reached the second round of the French Open for the second time in her career, currently taking place in Paris.
Diana kicked off her journey at Roland Garros against Australian athlete Destanee Aiava, who received a wild card. The first set was competitive, but in the end, Diana claimed victory with a score of 7:5, 6:1.
Her best performance at the French Open remains reaching the third round, which she achieved last year.
In the first round of 32, the Odessa tennis player took down the world’s 12th ranked player, Russian Diana Schneider, with a score of 7:5, 7:5. Yastremska managed to secure the win in two sets. The match lasted for 1 hour and 51 minutes. This was their second meeting, and Diana was able to avenge her previous loss.
In the next round, the Odessa player will again face a Russian opponent, Lyudmila Samsonova.
