Vadim Naumenko Shines at World Swimming Championships

At the ongoing World Short Course Swimming Championships in Budapest, Vadim Naumenko, a representative of the Specialized Children's and Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve «Dynamo», has advanced to the semifinals.

During the 200 meters individual medley qualification, he also managed to break the national record, finishing in 1:55.35 minutes.

Trained by Oleksandra Kurbanova and Vadym Peniazenko, Vadim improved his previous record set at the European Championships in Romania in 2023.

Today, the 21-year-old swimmer from Odesa completed the 100 meters individual medley in 53.07 seconds, securing the 14th fastest time overall and a spot among the 16 semifinalists.

Additionally, he broke the national record previously set by Oleg Lisyhor on December 11, 2005, at the European Championships in Trieste, Italy.

The semifinal heat will take place today, December 12, in the evening.
