Patient Verification: New Milestones in Healthcare System
As of June 29, more than 90% of patients in contracted primary healthcare facilities have successfully completed verification in the electronic health system.
This was reported by the Minister of Health of Ukraine, Viktor Lyashko, on his Facebook page.
He emphasized: "Changes in the healthcare system are only possible through honest conversations with healthcare professionals. We met with family doctors to discuss the challenges they face and find effective solutions together. Open dialogue is the cornerstone of resilience in the system, especially during wartime. One key issue currently concerning the professional community is patient data verification in the electronic health system."
"I understand that this imposes an additional burden on doctors. However, it is about transparency. It is about ensuring that the system funds real patients, not just statistics. This is a fundamental principle of the reform: money follows the patient. In the context of limited resources, this principle becomes even more significant," Lyashko stressed.
He informed that, according to the National Health Service of Ukraine, as of June 29, over 90% of patients in contracted primary healthcare facilities have been verified.
"This is a significant collective effort. To enhance this, the National Health Service of Ukraine has launched an updated analytical dashboard: each facility can see its own indicators, compare dynamics, and focus on best practices," he noted.
Lyashko also discussed how to proceed in cases where patients do not pass verification and added that clear solutions will be developed soon.
The Minister of Health appealed to all Ukrainians to support this process: "If you are receiving services – please verify your data. This is about our shared responsibility for stability and fairness in the healthcare system."
