Advancing Rehabilitation Initiatives in Ukraine
On September 18, 2025, an important event focused on rehabilitation initiatives took place in Odesa, titled «Bionic Forum: Ukraine’s Rehabilitation & Reforms».
Representatives from various ministries, including the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, and healthcare and social protection institutions participated in the forum.
Over two days, participants discussed critical issues of state policy in rehabilitation, modern technologies such as exoskeletons and bionic implants, as well as aspects of psychological support.
“This forum will serve as a catalyst for action, as prosthetics are closely linked to the social integration of people with disabilities,” emphasized Odesa's mayor, Gennadiy Trukhanov.
Odesa is actively developing a rehabilitation system for veterans, including modern departments in hospitals and psychological support.
A powerful Southern Ukrainian Rehabilitation Center is being established based on one of the city’s hospitals, integrating medical, educational, and sports programs.
Veterans are also engaging in sports competitions, which significantly aids their rehabilitation. Recently, the Odesa team returned from a successful regatta in Venice.
The «Bionic Forum: Ukraine’s Rehabilitation & Reforms» in Odesa will be a significant step in building a national rehabilitation system and introducing new technologies.
