Health Day for Military Personnel: A New Initiative
Last week, in honor of Ukraine's Defenders Day, healthcare facilities in Odesa organized a special Health and Wellness Day aimed at military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, veterans, and their families. This event was supported by the Odesa City Health Department and the City's Health Center.
Throughout the day, medical professionals conducted comprehensive health examinations, including blood pressure readings and blood glucose level tests, as well as ECGs for soldiers and their family members. Referrals to specialists were provided as needed.
To assess the mental health status of the participants, they were directed to psychological counseling sessions as part of the nationwide mental health program “How are you?” offering free psychological support.
As a result of the event, 408 individuals underwent preventive examinations, all received blood pressure measurements and glucose level tests. 136 ECGs were conducted. 103 cases of health issues were identified, and patients were referred for further specialist consultations and laboratory tests. Additionally, 84 psychological consultations were provided.
