Last year, approximately 300 bronchoscopy procedures were conducted in Odesa's medical institutions, allowing for the timely detection of 45 suspected cases of oncological diseases, leading to further consultations and treatments for patients.
Bronchoscopy is a crucial examination method of the trachea and bronchi using an endoscope, which helps identify respiratory organ cancers at early stages. It is recommended to undergo bronchoscopy routinely after the age of 50, even in the absence of complaints.
This procedure is part of the state medical guarantee program and is performed free of charge upon referral from a family or attending physician, especially for patients in inpatient care.
Modern bronchoscopy equipment has been purchased for Odesa's medical facilities using city budget funds. Patients can undergo the procedure for free by making an appointment at the following locations:
