Current Information on Gastroscopy in Odesa

Last year, medical facilities in Odesa conducted 12,390 gastroscopic examinations, identifying 240 suspicions of gastrointestinal cancer.

Esophagogastroduodenoscopy, known as gastroscopy, is an examination of the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum using an endoscope. This method helps diagnose gastritis, ulcers, and both benign and malignant tumors at early stages.

For individuals over 50, it is advisable to undergo gastroscopy routinely, even in the absence of complaints. If you are under 50 but your doctor recommends a gastroscopy, you need to obtain a referral to register at a medical facility contracted with the National Health Service of Ukraine for "Esophagogastroduodenoscopy".

The service is provided on an outpatient basis. However, if there is a need for gastroscopy during inpatient treatment, it is also performed free of charge with a doctor's referral.

Modern video gastroscopes have been purchased for medical facilities in Odesa using city budget funds. A referral from your family doctor or treating physician is required for free gastroscopy.

Free gastroscopy can be performed by appointment at the following addresses:

- Consultative Diagnostic Center No. 6 — 26a Dobrovoltsiv St. (Marshal Hovorov);
