Stroke Prevention Day in Odesa
On October 29, coinciding with World Stroke Day, medical establishments in Odesa organized an event focused on the prevention and early detection of stroke risk factors. This initiative was supported by the Health Department of the Odesa City Council and the Odesa City Health Center.
On this day, anyone interested could receive a free medical check-up, including blood pressure measurement, pulse rate assessment, blood glucose level testing, ECGs, and referrals for laboratory tests and specialist consultations. Doctors offered advice on stroke prevention.
As a result of the event, a total of 1,735 patients underwent preventive examinations. This led to the identification of 294 cases of high blood pressure and 102 cases of elevated blood glucose levels. A total of 867 ECGs were performed, with 136 patients referred to a cardiologist. Additionally, 895 patients were sent for laboratory investigations.
