Diplomatic Milestones: New Paths for Cooperation
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot described the April 17 meeting in Paris as a significant diplomatic achievement uniting representatives from the USA, Europe, and Ukraine.
In an interview with LCI, he highlighted the event as a sign of new collaborative opportunities.
Following discussions that included delegates from Ukraine, the UK, France, Germany, and the USA, Barrot stated that this is a notable success for France.
“This marks a major step forward, as it is the first time that representatives from the USA, Ukraine, and Europe have come together at the same table,” he emphasized.
He pointed out that such gatherings are crucial, as “we are moving towards our common goal: achieving peace”.
“To make this happen, we must continue the dialogue. The Americans are eager to end this war,” he added, stressing that the USA is “listening” and seeking a ceasefire.
As reported, on April 17, French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed a US delegation at the Élysée Palace. A meeting also took place in Paris between the Ukrainian delegation and representatives from France, Germany, and the UK.
US Special Representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, reported “very productive” meetings in Paris and shared a photo with the head of the President’s Office, Andrii Yermak, and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
