Security Talks in the Black Sea: New Perspectives

Significant negotiations regarding security in the Black Sea are currently underway in Turkey. These discussions are taking place at the military level, featuring representatives from the "coalition of the willing" – the United Kingdom and France.

Source: President Volodymyr Zelensky during a press conference in Odesa on April 15 after meeting with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, as reported by "European Truth".

Details: According to Zelensky, a military meeting is being held in Turkey concerning Black Sea security, primarily involving the "coalition of the willing".

"These discussions are taking place over two days on the platform provided by our Turkish colleagues. They have invited representatives from Europe, as was the case at the summit in Paris – the UK, France, with Ukraine definitely present, and the host country – Turkey," he added.

The Turkish Ministry of Defense previously announced that a meeting would take place on April 15-16 to discuss Black Sea security following a potential ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.

Although Turkish media had reported that Russian representatives were to attend, Ankara denied this.

Recall that following negotiations in Saudi Arabia from March 23-25, the USA, Russia, and Ukraine agreed to discuss securing navigation in the Black Sea.

However, after this, Russia presented a list of demands, including the easing of sanctions on the agricultural sector. The USA stated they would review these demands, while in Europe, the easing of sanctions was rejected.
