Lift Modernization in Odessa: New Technologies and Plans for 2024
In 2024, as part of the city's modernization program, the replacement of 91 lifts is planned, contingent on budget funding. Funds have already been allocated to repair 44 lifts that have been in service for over 25 years.
Currently, the cost of replacing a single lift for the city budget ranges from 1.5 to 2.3 million UAH, depending on the number of floors and load capacity. On average, the repair of one lift takes up to two months.
According to the Department of Urban Development, new elevators have been installed in residential buildings at the following addresses: Nebesnoyi Sotni St., 6, Simyi Glodan St. (Ilfa and Petrov), 17 and 29, Akad. Zabolotny St., 49, Prince Yaroslav Mudryi Ave. (Akad. Hlushko), 34 and 11, and Lustdorf Road, 164.
Experts state that modern elevators are 40% more energy-efficient. In case of a power outage, emergency evacuation is provided, allowing residents to safely reach the nearest floor, minimizing the risk of being trapped in the lift shaft.
Since 2016, over 1,500 lifts have been replaced in Odessa. Due to the full-scale invasion, the municipal lift restoration program was temporarily suspended, but work will resume at the beginning of 2024.
Additional Information
All new lifts are equipped with modern systems: frequency regulation and door control units that ensure smooth opening and closing; movement control systems that enhance the efficiency of the main winch's electric motor. This allows for reduced energy consumption and improved comfort during lift use.
The cabins of all modernized lifts are lined with vandal-proof coatings made of powder-coated metal, providing good protection against mechanical damage. Additionally, anti-vandal lamps and metal buttons that cannot be ignited or removed from the panel are installed. Mirrors and handrails are provided in all lifts.
