Community Tree Planting in Odessa
A large community service event took place in Odessa.
In Preobrazhensky Park, 100 new trees were planted. Overall, nearly 200 trees were planted in different locations throughout the city, including acacias, Japanese sophoras, maples, and ashes.
Along Uspenskaya Street and on French Boulevard, 33 Japanese sophoras and 32 acacia trees were planted in place of removed stumps.
«Last year, the city purchased stump removal equipment for the Municipal Greenery Trust. What used to take a whole day now only takes half an hour to remove a single stump. We are planting new trees in the cleared spaces. Thank you to everyone who participated,» — said Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov.
Additionally, residents along with municipal workers planted trees on Mykolaivska Road and cleaned up the slopes along the Health Trail.
