Gas Explosion in Odesa: Casualties and Rescue Efforts
This afternoon in Odesa, on Marselska Street, a household gas explosion occurred in a stove, leading to a fire in an apartment on the first floor of a nine-story building.
Rescue teams swiftly responded and managed to extinguish the fire, preventing it from spreading to neighboring apartments.
Unfortunately, the apartment owner, born in 1981, suffered burns covering 35% of his body and was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the burn center. Additionally, a nearby beauty salon worker, born in 1987, sustained minor cuts from shattered glass due to the explosion.
Psychologists from the State Emergency Service were present at the scene to provide psychological support to local residents.
A total of 9 units of equipment and 33 firefighters were involved in the operation.
