New Well Opening in Odesa

On October 8, 2024, the municipal enterprise «Service Center» opened a well on Krymsky Boulevard after an extensive renovation.

The construction of this well began in 2002, and it currently serves as the only source of drinking water for a large population in the Peresyp district of Odesa. On average, it provides about 12-14 cubic meters of water daily (operating from 08:00 to 20:00).

The well was closed for major repairs on December 1, 2023.

In early March, to ensure that residents had access to free drinking water, a temporary water distribution point was established outside the well. This service continued until October 8.

According to the «Service Center», the renovation involved drilling an artesian well, installing water treatment equipment, and laying new pipelines from the well to the facility. Additionally, commissioning works were carried out for both standard and alternative energy supply.

At a meeting in the Peresyp District Administration in March of this year, locals positively evaluated and supported the initiative to build another well in the Peresyp district, specifically near the 'Zoryany' cinema park. Construction has already begun.

Importantly, this well will not only provide clean drinking water but also serve as an alternative water supply in case of emergencies during wartime.
