Emergency Medicine in Action: Odesa Hosts Disaster Simulation
In Odesa, annual competitions for emergency medical service personnel took place, during which new vehicles and uniforms were handed out to the medics. The regional government actively participated in organizing the event, as reported by the Odesa Regional Health Department.
The competition was held at the transportation unit of the Odesa Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine. The main goal was to enhance the professionalism, coordination, and effectiveness of medical staff in challenging situations.
The event was organized by the Odesa Regional State Administration and the Health Department. During the official part, the head of the OVA, Oleg Kiper, presented the medics with keys to 11 new emergency medical vehicles that will be distributed among six districts of the region and the city of Odesa.
As part of the “Health of Odesa Region” program, service workers also received certificates for new specialized uniforms. Representatives of the National Police and the State Emergency Service expressed their gratitude for effective cooperation during the response to emergencies.
Following the presentation, a practical competition phase took place, where teams operated in conditions closely resembling real-life scenarios. The event concluded with a large-scale simulation of an emergency situation involving representatives of the Red Cross of Ukraine.
