Oncology Seminar: Advancements in Cancer Treatment

On October 29, 2025, a seminar was held in Odesa dedicated to the latest advancements in breast and lung cancer treatment.

The event, organized with the support of the Odesa City Health Department, the All-Ukrainian Association of Evidence-Based Medicine Physicians, and the Odesa Region Family Medicine Association, provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange.

During the seminar, discussions focused on early diagnosis, prevention, treatment organization, and support for patients with oncological diseases.

According to last year’s data, over 47,000 patients with oncological diseases were registered in Odesa, including 168 children, highlighting the importance of early diagnosis.

The Health Department has launched the “Odesa Against Cancer” project, aimed at improving access to diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

Weekly preventive check-ups introduced by the department are increasing the population's coverage of cancer screenings.

In the first half of 2025, more than 30,000 preventive examinations were conducted in Odesa's medical institutions, with over 15,500 cancer screenings, leading to the detection of 300 new cases suspected of oncopathology.

Specialists from the department have developed patient roadmaps for timely prevention and early detection of oncological diseases, accessible via QR codes.

Informational posters are placed at bus stops and city advertising media to widely disseminate information about early diagnosis and cancer prevention among Odesa residents.
