Revitalization of Odessa Clinical Hospital No. 1
In Odessa, the transformation of the city clinical hospital No. 1 is underway — a medical institution with a long-standing history.
«This is not just repairs. It’s a new chapter for the hospital, better known as the Jewish hospital, which has served the people of Odessa for centuries. We are preserving culture and memory while simultaneously creating modern conditions for treatment,» emphasized Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov.
Currently, the parallel reconstruction of the surgical pavilion and the former utility building, which will become a rehabilitation center, is in progress.
Work is being carried out without interrupting medical services — the hospital continues to accept patients.
Previously, the reception and gynecology departments have been updated, and the roofs of the therapeutic and neurological buildings have been renovated.
This has not only improved the conditions for patients but also ensured the continuity of medical services.
The facility is equipped with alternative energy and water supply sources, which are critically important in wartime conditions.
Additionally, the connection of a new modular boiler house, which will provide stable heating for all hospital buildings, is ongoing.
The mayor noted that the restoration of the surgical pavilion and the installation of the modular boiler house are being financed by the European Investment Bank under the national recovery program of Ukraine.
The project is being implemented on a co-financing basis: 80% from the bank and 20% from the city budget.
