Free HIV Testing in Odesa
Despite the ongoing war, Odesa continues to provide residents with access to free HIV testing.
HIV tests are offered at no cost in all city hospitals, primary healthcare centers, maternity wards, and women's consultation clinics.
Anyone can learn their HIV status for free within 15 minutes at their family doctor or in a medical facility. Rapid testing is funded by the City Target Program “Health”.
In the first nine months of 2025, 29,240 individuals underwent HIV testing in Odesa's healthcare institutions, leading to the first identification of 268 positive cases.
Patients with positive results are referred to the City Center for HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control for further examination and access to free highly effective antiretroviral therapy, allowing people living with HIV to lead long and fulfilling lives.
The organization of HIV testing in Odesa and the work of multidisciplinary teams have received high praise from both national and global experts.
