Mental Health Support Initiatives in Odesa
On October 16, 2025, a workshop titled “Mental Health — A Resource for Life” was held in Odesa. This event was organized by the Odesa Health Department in collaboration with the Family Medicine Association in honor of World Mental Health Day.
This year, over 35,000 mental health services were provided to adults and children in Odesa, including support for internally displaced persons and military personnel.
There are 16 psychological counseling rooms operating in the city. Additionally, two integrated response centers have been established in the Kyivskyi and Peresyp districts. These centers have interdisciplinary teams consisting of psychologists, social workers, and legal advisors, providing support to individuals in crisis, particularly those affected by the war.
Notably, the Mental Health Center established at City Clinical Hospital No. 10 serves as a crucial hub for specialized assistance, offering medical-psychiatric support and rehabilitation services.
Another mental health center is set to open at Municipal Clinical Hospital No. 1, facilitated by a collaboration with the French Development Agency. Currently, renovation works are ongoing at the Jewish Hospital facility.
Psychological assistance in Odesa is provided free of charge under the nationwide mental health program “How Are You?”. Anyone interested can reach out to qualified professionals for support.
The City Health Department places special emphasis on the mental well-being of healthcare workers, organizing burnout prevention training and providing opportunities for individual consultations and support groups.
