Blood Donation Campaign in Odesa: Supporting Our Heroes
Last week, with the support of the «Donor Odesa» project and the administration of the children's city clinical hospital No. 3, a major blood donation campaign was organized to aid wounded defenders of Ukraine. Medical staff from the Odesa regional blood transfusion station facilitated the mobile donations.
Over two days, staff from the children's hospital in the Kyiv and Peresyp districts donated blood. On the second day, employees from the Primary Health Care Center No. 5 and the Diagnostic Consulting Center No. 29 also participated in the donation. In total, about 50 donors contributed, saving dozens of lives.
The daily need for donated blood has remained extraordinarily high since the onset of full-scale war. Today, blood is vital for saving military and civilian patients.
Any interested groups can organize a mobile blood donation directly at their premises. Here’s how:
1. Gather a group of 25-50 willing donors. Ensure potential donors do not have absolute contraindications or temporary restrictions for blood donation.

3. The day before donating blood, you need to follow certain dietary restrictions and guidelines regarding medication.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the «Donor Odesa» project has been assisting in finding blood donors for the city’s medical facilities, engaging over 9000 donors so far.
