In Memoriam: General Mykola Leifura
On the age of 90, retired Lieutenant General Mykola P. Leifura has passed away. His life was a testament to unwavering dedication to his homeland, and in recent decades, he actively contributed to the veterans' movement in Odessa.
From a young age, Mykola P. chose the honorable path of military service, commanding various units, including tank platoons and mechanized divisions. He concluded his career as the Deputy Commander of the Odessa Military District.
His devotion to the homeland earned him numerous awards, including III and II degree orders for service, as well as the Bohdan Khmelnytsky orders.
In his later years, General led the city Council of War Veterans, served as the Deputy Head of the regional veterans' organization, and was a member of the Council of Veterans of Ukraine.
The passing of Mykola Leifura marks the end of an era, yet his mission of supporting veterans will continue to resonate with future generations.
