Details: He emphasized NATO's steadfast support and promised that assistance to Ukraine will continue.

"The Ukrainian people have endured so much – not only the Russian attack on Sumy on Palm Sunday. NATO's support is unwavering. We will continue to assist Ukraine so it can defend itself today and deter future aggression, ensuring a just and lasting peace", – wrote Rutte.

For his part, Zelensky shared on X that he visited a hospital with Rutte, where Ukrainian defenders are recovering from injuries. He also posted a video from this visit.

"We spoke with the warriors. Honored defenders with state awards. Thank you to the guys for their strength, endurance, and protection of our people", – he wrote.

On April 4, after the conclusion of the Alliance's ministerial meeting, Rutte stated that the Alliance's decision regarding Ukraine's NATO membership remains unchanged, despite all political statements.

On the same day, Kremlin negotiator Kirill Dmitriev, who was in Washington, stated that the Trump administration understands the position of Kremlin head Vladimir Putin regarding Ukraine's NATO membership being impossible.
